Victoria Marincheva
Senior Associate
Victoria is an experienced lawyer, senior associate- part of the employment and privacy & data protection practice groups in Eversheds Sutherland in Bulgaria. A lawyer with a strong corporate law background, she provides comprehensive legal services to international and local clients and helps companies in highly regulated sectors and technology navigate the complex legal environment. Victoria also represents clients in administrative and court procedures.
Biography
Having extensive experience in the employment aspect of corporate and business reorganization matters – resulting from either commercial transaction, such as mergers and acquisitions, concessions or restructuring of the business processes on a local or group level, Victoria helps clients along the entire process, including specific questions such as transfer of employment, redundancy, notification and consultation procedures. Victoria also gives advice and assists clients, mainly on the employer side, with respect to individual employment relationships such as executive employment issues and day to day HR queries, as well as on the implementation and localization of global contracts and policies, including employee data privacy and discrimination issues. Apart from her work as a legal adviser, Victoria acts as legal representative in collective bargaining and court proceedings.
A lawyer with a strong interest in the legal aspects of the digital economy and the value of data, a large part of Victoria’s role is related to provision of legal advice on privacy and data practices and compliance issues to businesses as yours. Victoria consults privacy projects across multiple sectors but has in-depth experience working within the financial and e-commerce sectors. Victoria has actively worked on the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation by conducting trainings, preparation of legal analyses and consulting the setup of personal data processing processes that would incorporate the best privacy standards. Whether you are a customer, controller or data processor, Victoria can represent you before the Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Personal Data and the courts with respect to registration issues, complaints and appealing of penalties.
Outside of advising clients, Victoria is an activist in the development of a stronger French speaking professional community in the region. She was elected a delegate of the Sofia Bar Association at an international conference of the young lawyers hosted by l’Organisation internationale de la Francophonie in 2019 and currently acts as international coordinator for the Balkans of the non-profit organocation Francophonie sans frontières. She has interviews and publication in specialized electronic issues, on TV and radio (including France24, Darik Radio).
In her spare time, she enjoys trying new sports and travelling. She is passionate about social entrepreneurship and IT law.
Professional Activities
- Victoria is member of the Bulgarian Bar Association since 2015
She is also member of several networking organizations, including the alumni club of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and Club des avocats francophones.
Over her career, Victoria took part in various training events (in Bulgaria, France, Germany, Poland) focusing on legal education, such as IT law, human rights, AML, financial services, as well as on mastering business knowledge and skills, including conflict management, negotiation and public speaking.

Victoria has presented at client trainings and public events in Bulgaria and abroad.
She also lectured on a European law and Business law course in the Faculty of Information Sciences at UniBit for several years.
