Svetlin has an extensive experience as tax adviser and lecturer.
Biography
Svetlin Krastanov is a tax adviser with more than 14 years of experience, including 10 years at two of the Big Four firms. He has advised on tax matters multinational and local companies from different industries. Svetlin has leaded many projects in the areas of direct and indirect taxation, including for excise and customs duties. He has worked on various projects related to implementation of the EU VAT rules in Bulgaria and Croatia. Svetlin has also advised clients and delivered training events related to implementation of VAT and excise tax in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
He has been a lecturer on various tax training events around the world. Together with his colleagues, he has developed programs and lectured at summer tax academies for students. In 2017, Svetlin established his own company which runs several online academies delivering tax courses to participants from many countries.
Svetlin is author of many publications on taxation published in renowned international journals and local media. He is also a co-author of a book dedicated to taxation of NGOs and contributed to various publications of the World Bank and the European Commission. Also, Svetlin has drafted various proposals for changes to tax legislation.
Svetlin holds a PhD degree with a dissertation dedicated to tax policy. He is also a holder of the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) awarded by the Chartered Institute of Taxation, UK as well as a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by the Project Management Institute, US.
In his spare time, he enjoys various sports and photography.
